Board Mentoring Policy Template for Credit Unions

The purpose of the Credit Union’s Board Mentoring Program (Program) is to 1) help prepare new Associate and full Board members (Mentees) for full participation in the work of the Board, 2) develop a pipeline of future Board leadership and 3) offer opportunities to strengthen the Board at-large with learnings gained from the Program. Mentors provide knowledge through various ways which includes offering practical advice based on their experience, providing one-on-one support and referring their Mentees to needed resources.
