Governance & Nominations Committee Charter for Nonprofits
The Committee shall be responsible for enhancing the overall leadership quality, effectiveness and strategic impact of the Organization’s Board and all of the elements of its governance structure and policies. Further, the Committee will oversee Board and Audit Committee (together, Volunteer) renewal through a thoughtful Volunteer recruitment, vetting and nominations process. The Committee will also direct Volunteer development efforts, including a robust onboarding process for new Volunteers and ongoing educational initiatives for current Volunteers. Finally, the Committee is tasked with ensuring that the Organization’s deliberations are strategic in nature and that Board leadership is well-positioned – even through transitions – to support governance excellence at the Organization.
