Audit Committee Chair Job Description for Nonprofits

The Chair of the Committee is the manager and coordinator of the Committee’s overall activities which are to: assist the Board of Directors (Board) and Senior Management in safeguarding the Organization’s assets; ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information; maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of the Organization’s operations; comply with applicable laws and regulations; foster and evaluate Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities to ensure the Organization’s long term viability and success; and ensure the Organization has an annual audit conducted in a timely fashion.
